How to check your PERM case status
Your own case's status is only on DOL's FLAG system. Here's how to look it up, what each status means, and where your case is in DOL's line while it says In Process.
Check it on DOL's FLAG system
- Open DOL's Case Status Search.
- Enter your case number, for example G-100-25065-750723. You can enter up to 30, one per line.
- Complete DOL's automated check, then search.
- The result shows the case number, visa program, employer, job title, submit date and status.
PERM applications filed before May 31, 2023 are in DOL's older iCERT system: plc.doleta.gov. The same FLAG search also finds prevailing wage requests (Form ETA-9141); see PWD processing times.
What your case number tells you
A FLAG case number holds the date DOL received the application: in G-100-25065-750723, 25065 means 2025, day 65, which is March 6. In DOL's own data the number matches the received date for 90% of cases and is one day later for almost all the rest. Paste yours to see where it stands.
What the status means
- In Process
- DOL hasn't decided yet. That covers both analyst review and audit. As of Oct 5, 2026 DOL's analysts were reviewing cases filed in December 2025, and audit review was at December 2025 filings.
- Certified
- DOL approved the labor certification. The employer then has 180 days to file it with USCIS in support of the I-140 petition; after that it expires (20 CFR 656.30(b)).
- Certified-Expired
- DOL approved it, and the 180-day validity period has ended. The status on its own doesn't show whether the I-140 was filed in time; your employer or attorney knows.
- Denied
- DOL denied it. Within 30 days the employer can ask the Certifying Officer to reconsider (20 CFR 656.24(g)) or ask the Board of Alien Labor Certification Appeals to review it (20 CFR 656.26). DOL is working on reconsideration requests filed in May 2026.
- Withdrawn
- The employer withdrew the application. A new PERM gets a new case number and a new filing date.
Of the 259,489 PERM cases DOL decided between Oct 1, 2024 and Jun 30, 2026, 93.2% were certified, 2.5% denied and 4.4% withdrawn.
Still In Process?
DOL works through PERM cases close to the order they were filed. As of Oct 5, 2026 its analysts were on December 2025 filings. If yours was filed later, it's waiting its turn; the estimate shows when DOL is likely to reach it.
If your application was filed more than three months before the month DOL posts, DOL says you may ask the OFLC PERM Helpdesk for a status at oflc.plc@dol.gov. Some cases are selected for audit; the employer then gets an audit letter (20 CFR 656.20), and the case is reviewed in DOL's audit queue, which was at December 2025 filings.

- How do I check my PERM case status?
- Open DOL's Case Status Search at https://flag.dol.gov/case-status-search, enter your FLAG case number (it looks like G-100-25065-750723), complete DOL's automated check and search. PERM applications filed before May 31, 2023 are in DOL's older iCERT system at plc.doleta.gov.
- Can I check PERM status without the case number?
- DOL's search takes case numbers only. Your employer or its immigration attorney has the number; it's on the PERM filing.

- What does Certified-Expired mean?
- DOL approved it, and the 180-day validity period has ended. The status on its own doesn't show whether the I-140 was filed in time; your employer or attorney knows.
